  • Im afraid of experiencing pain in my ears :(

    and motion sickness :(

I do have a bit of allergy and sinus right now, how can I prep my body for this flight?

  • For allergy / sinus, you might want to try an antihistamine, a nasal spray, sudafed, etc., to clear out your sinuses for the flight.

Chewing gum during takeoff and landing should help your ears pop, which relieves the pressure and should keep them from hurting.

It's a good idea to skip alcohol and salty foods during the flight and drink lots of water. It should help with water retention / swelling, and should also help with jetlag (if you're changing time-zones).

Motion sickness: I've never experienced this on a plane, but I've used Dramamine when traveling on water.

For what it's worth, I recently had my own marathon flight (16 hours). I purposely stayed up all of the night before my flight. I was so tired that I slept through the majority of the flight ... it made the time pass faster, I slept soundly, and I had no jetlag at my destination.

    Best of luck!

  • Chew chewing gem on the flight. Stick it in your mouth when the are putting you on the plane. It will help with ears and with you belly. It worked for me!

  • You should not have pain in yours ears if you chew gum when you are about to land. You should have plenty of sleep before the flight. Bring some medication if you think that you might have problems with your health. Make sure to hydrate yourself frequently and try to get as much sleep as you could during your flght no matter how hard it maybe. I took melatonine to help me sleep better. You may want to bring ear plugs too.

I think that you'll be fine. Don't worry about anything now. My trips were 18 hours and they were not bad.

    Have a great trip.

  • take afrin as soon as you get to the airport...it sounds like not much but it helps so much!
also make sure you walk around on the flight a bit to avoid blood clots or just stiff legs :)
